Firehouse 2

Firehouse 2 1888 - 18??. Although this might not have had the moniker "Firehouse 2", it did house the Junior Hose Company No. 2. The building was known as Rorrer Hall and served many purposes. One of those being the location of the apparatus for the Juniors. The Juniors later moved to Firehouse 1 with the Vigilants when Rorrer Hall burned down.

Firehouse 2 1907 - 1951. Firehouse 2 was originally built for the Friendship Fire Company 3. When the department went fully paid in 1907, the volunteers disbanded and this firehouse was renamed firehouse 2.

Firehouse 2 was built in 1950, although it was originally firehouse 10. This became Firehouse 2 in 1974 when the new station (#10) was built at Roanoke Regional Airport. This firehouse is located at 55 Noble Avenue NE.
