I am a little late on this due to being busy, but it was posted and emailed out on the Local 1132 site. The Roanoke Firefighters Auxiliary is having a trip to the Layman Family Corn Maze today (Sunday) at 2pm. Check out the Local 1132 site for more (Link).
We hope to see everyone this Saturday at Hilltop Lanes (Williamson Road) from 7-10 for the Auxiliary Bowling Night. It is $12.50 per person. Let us know if you all will be attending and how many you will be bringing with you so we can reserve lanes. Thanks
Your Auxiliary Board

The Auxiliary recently had a bowling night as well. They have posted pictures on their website here. The trip to Emerald Pointe was awesome. The kids had a great time, and the adults enjoyed the park as well. Around 50 of us made the trek to Greensboro, NC for the day. We had to sit through one storm when we first got there, then the weather was perfect. The overcast skies kept the crowd to a minimum, which was perfect for riding the slides.
And yes, Willie wore the goggles and water wings the whole day.

The trip is less than 2 weeks away and we only have 54 seats on the bus. If we have more people we have the option of getting another bus, but it is very important if you are planning on going that we get information and payment as soon as possible. Abbott needs $100.00 ASAP and Emerald Point needs 50% when I mail the contract back to them.
Please reserve your spot ASAP by calling Melanie at ********** or **************. If you have any additional questions, please let us know!
So…….grab your swimsuits and let’s go!
If you guys need the number for Melanie let me know or you can call Scott Graham at Fire Station 1 today. You can email Melanie at rfauxiliary@gmail.com.
The Roanoke Firefighters Auxiliary is hosting a Family Bowling night for all union members including their families(including children). The event will be held Friday, June 13th from 7-10PM @ Hilltop Lanes on Williamson Road. The rate for bowling is $12.50/person (inclusive of shoes and unlimited bowling). Please respond to rfauxiliary@gmail.com if you will be able to attend and include the number in your party so we can give them a final count. Encourage all union members to come. You do not need to be involved in the Auxiliary at this time to attend. Feel free to forward to other spouses and union members. Thank you for all your support.

The Roanoke Firefighters Auxiliary was started to support Roanoke’s Firefighters and their families. Since they began, they have assisted the Heck Family and the Hetherington Family.
Last week they delivered dinner for the Hetherington Family every night.
The women have created a phone and email tree that enables them to discuss issues back and forth and plan for tasks such as above. It seems as though every week or so, another spouse will find out about the group and get involved in what is going on.
If anyone is interested in joining the Auxiliary check out the website here: Roanoke Firefighters Auxiliary. The website offers a little more detail on who can join. Be sure to email them if you are interested. The next meeting will be in January.
Graham’s house. For more information please contact Helene Ferguson or Melanie Graham.
If you did not receive a notice and are a firefighters wife, then you are welcome to attend. They are adding to the mailing list every day.
The first meeting was eventful and they have many other things to discuss at the next meeting. Here are some that they list:
- Where to have future meetings
- What the 1st fund raising project will be
- Vote on officers of the auxiliary
- Continue to discuss chartering with the AIAFF
